Malik Arash Mawlayi : Walaikom asalam my dear friends..

MMA DAVAO: How do you feel right now after the long months training and after great fight?
Malik Arash Mawlayi: I feel great and very happy after my fight and can finaly rest for couple of days

MMA DAVAO: How was your training and did it pay off during your fight?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: My training was very hard and i trained 2 times a day everyday as hard as i could. My fight didnt last so long time, but i was ready for 5 rounds war if it had to.

MMA DAVAO: Talking about your opponent, Do you have a specific game plan for him?
Malik Arash Mawlayi: My specific game plane was to circle, circle, keep my hands high from his high kicks and stay with him toe to toe if i had to or take him down if i had to.

MMA DAVAO: Any comments about your opponent?
Malik Arash Mawlayi: He was big and tall :0), And he seems to be a great and calm figter.

MMA DAVAO: We were not able to watch the fight here, however, from what I read you got him in the first round. Can you walk us thru this? What happened and how did you get your opponent?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: My game plan was to fight him where ever it took. But my plan was to take him down. I throw a back kick and i missed it and then he came to me with a combination but missed. I throw a right overhand and continued with a take down, keep the side position and punch a little bit and right before he manage to get up on his feet, I got a rear necked choke and submit him.

MMA
DAVAO:
Give us your thoughts about the fight?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: my thoughts about the fight. I might fight him couple of rounds since it was a five rounds championship fight. But the same time I did not want to take any risk and just finish the fight early while I could.

MMA DAVAO: What were your thoughts when you finished the fight?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: when i finished the fight my thoughts was God is Great.

MMA DAVAO: How does it feel to have the belt and ending the fight early?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: It feels that I worked hard for many years and dedicated my life by fighting and I deserved something like that.

MMA DAVAO: Do you want to say anything for the fans, readers and supporters of MMA?

Malik Arash Mawlayi: For my fans and supporters i would like to say thanks alot for supporting me and it pays off to train hard and come to the fight with a good confidense.

WEEKEND PRIMERS

Saturday evenings or should I say "sabado nights" for pinoys is a night for partying. They go to clubs, bars, disco and etc...just to unwind, have fun, meet new people and just have a great fun time.

Where will you be this June 19 and June 26? Somewhere out there partying?

On the other side of the world where MMA fanatics and enthusiasts thrive..hehe. They are in for a treat.

June 19 what would they expect?

yes it is, its the ULTIMATE FIGHTER FINALE .TUF 11

Two of the most celebrated alumni from The Ultimate Fighter® will finally meet inside the Octagon™ in the live finale of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Liddell vs. Team Ortiz on Saturday, June 19 at 9:00pm ET/PT. Emanating from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, the 'Dean of Mean', Keith Jardine (Season 2) takes on Matt 'The Hammer' Hamill (season 3) in a matchup pitting Jardine’s unorthodox striking against Hamill’s powerhouse wrestling, with the winner moving further up the ranks in the UFC’s ultra-competitive light heavyweight division.

The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale, a nine-bout card from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas live on Spike at 9 p.m. ET Saturday; World Extreme Cagefighting 49, an 11-bout card from Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, live on Versus at 9 p.m. ET Sunday

WHOSE IN THE CARD?

MCGEE VS MCGRAY
MATT HAMIL VS KEITH JARDINE
CHRIS LEBEN VS AARON SIMPSON
SPENCER FISHER VS DENNIS SIVER
JAMIE YAGER VS RITCH ATTONITO
JAMES McSWEENEY VS TRAVIS BROWNE

Why Should MMA Followers Watch:

Because the ‘TUF’ card has at least two go-for-broke fighters in Chris Leben and Spencer Fisher; because you’re either looking for Jamie Yager to deliver a beating or sustain one; because on the WEC’s end, Jamie Varner and Kamal Shalorus can only disappoint if the arena power goes out; and because doing anything but watching television is highly overrated.

ON THE 26TH

After months of anticipation, the world's No. 1 heavyweight and pound-for-pound Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko (31-1), will make his eagerly awaited return to the cage to face two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion and top-ranked superstar Fabricio "Vai Cavalo" Werdum (13-4) in a STRIKEFORCE and M-1 GLOBAL co-promoted event at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on Saturday, June 26, live on SHOWTIME® at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).

So for MMA Davao members Sabado nights this coming weekends will be really fun. Enjoy!

dONT MESS AROUND with MUSHROOMS !!!!

I was so shocked as I come across to this article this morning. I just would like to share this to everyone...cause it involves an MMA fighter.

Jarrod Wyatt, MMA Fighter, Pleads Insanity in Grisly Murder

Posted by Edecio Martinez

Jarrod Wyatt (Del Norte County Sheriff's Dept.)

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. (CBS/AP) Jarrod Wyatt, charged with murdering his sparring partner and accused of allegedly removing his friend's heart, tongue and most of his face has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Wyatt's attorney says his client entered the plea last week in Del Norte County Superior Court after consulting medical experts.

The 26-year-old mixed martial arts fighter faces charges of murder, aggravated mayhem and torture in the death of 21-year-old Taylor Powell.

Sheriff's deputies say they found Wyatt naked and bloody on March 21. Powell's body was on a couch next to him with an 18-inch incision in the chest and most of the face removed.

Wyatt was apparently convinced that the world was about to end and that Powell was the Devil, according to the Times-Standard.

"Satan was in that dude," Wyatt allegedly told Del Norte County Police Sgt. Elwood Lee, who responded to the scene.

Lee told the northern California paper that Wyatt also cooked Powell's severed body parts in a wood stove because he thought Powell was still alive.

Witnesses at a preliminary hearing said Wyatt and Powell had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms. According to his lawyer, Wyatt suffered a psychotic breakdown because of the drugs.

"My client was trying to silence the devil," Wyatt's defense attorney James Fallman told the Times-Standard.

Martial Combat Champion - THE IRON FIST

Before anything else, in behalf of all the MMA fans, enthusiasts, practitioners here in Davao and members of MMA Davao FB group, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

OLE: whatup davao! whatup vincent,im good thanks, happy with all the hard work in the gym payd of and right now just enjoying my win

MMA DAVAO: Give us your thoughts about the fight?
OLE: 1st round plan was to stay out of reach and buy myself some time since i had just found out i was fighting 5 rounds.plan didnt work out and i was in a bit of trouble first round being taken down,he landed some good shots on me to,,2nd i came back landing heavy legkicks,in clinch i kept kneeing same thigh and had him grounded few times where i just stepped out to legkick him when he was down.they paid of and stopped his mobility on 3rd and i think his heart to,broke him down,,in 3rd managed to land again,at some point got chance to go for crusifix but ended up taking his back locking his arm down with one leg so he only had 1 arm to defend the choke with ,and i sunk it in.

MMA DAVAO: Do you have a specific game plan for your opponent?
OLE: plan was to stand and strike and tire him out ,,if possible i would end it standing,,if ended on ground like it did the dream end scenario would be submission and i got it.

MMA DAVAO: Any comments about your opponent?
OLE: he was strong, fast and skilled,,i think he mental broke and my poker face covered up the times that he had me hurt so he didnt take further advantage where he should have.
good fighter and seemed like a nice guy.

MMA DAVAO: During the fist round as he was giving your problems, what was on your mind? What went wrong?
OLE: usually takes me a round to figure out the distance and he hit me early and made his game work.2nd i started to figure him out.

MMA DAVAO: What were your thoughts when you were already at his back and controlling him, going for the RNC?
OLE: that i wasnt going to get it

MMA DAVAO: How does it feel to have the belt?
OLE: well, the belt is just a bonus glimmer thing that looks good on pictures,,im really happy for the win itself and that i was able to beat this guy,,my game keeps improving and i would like the world to know that we at my camp take our training serious

MMA DAVAO: How was the Post fight party? :)
